Rose Fenton is an International Arts Producer and Advisor. Rose was Co-Founder and Director from 1980 - 2005, of LIFT - the London International Festival of Theatre. Her book, The Turning World: Stories from the London International Festival of Theatre, written with Lucy Neal,  was published by the Gulbenkian Foundation in 2005. Since leaving LIFT Rose continues to work internationally. She is currently working on a range of international projects including:  FIT - Festivals in Transition - an initiative by 8 European theatre festivals  to develop the role of international contemporary theatre festivals within the cultural landscape of an evolving Europe; London World Stages, a consortium of London venues collaborating to create a series of international co-productions for a festival  in 2012;  and  on Lublin in Poland’s  its bid to become European Capital of Culture  in 2016. Rose is on the Advisory Board of Tipping Point, an organization that brings together scientists and artists to explore a creative response to Climate Change, and in this role is setting up a Tipping Point meeting in India for 2011. Rose is a Mentor for the Clore Leadership Programme and  sits on the Board of a number of arts organizations including Dance Umbrella, Aerowaves, Moti Roti, European House of Culture, Brussels. She is the Chair of Without Walls, a consortium of leading British Festivals commissioning and promoting work in the public realm. Rose has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from De Montfort University and an Honorary Fellowship from Dartington College of Arts. In 2005 she received an OBE for Services to Drama.
